If you work with food as part of your job, or you're looking to work in the food industry, then you'll need training in food safety. This course is endorsed by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and supports the legal requirement for any staff handling food to be appropriately trained. It provides an overall introduction into food safety, covering topics such as hygiene, bacteria, food poisoning and contamination.
Entry Requirements:
If your job or business involves working with food, you might want to know that there's no legal requirement for people handling food at work to have a certificate, but there is a legal requirement for them to be 'appropriately trained'. An environmental health inspector may require you to demonstrate this, so a 'properly' endorsed certificate from a Level 2 course will give you peace of mind.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Qualification/Progression:
On successful completion of the course you will receive a HABC approved certificate to show employers you have been trained to the right level. The HABC endorsement ensures that the training stands up to the rigors of inspection by EHOs/EHPs, Food and Safety Officers or HSE enforcement inspectors and auditors.
How long does it take?
Up to 1 week, but we'll agree a target end date to suit you.
How much will it cost?
Thanks to Government funding, your courses and qualification may be subsidised or free depending on your circumstances. FREE for persons aged 19+, 0 - 6 months Unemployed (on Job Seekers Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance).
